Always Warm up Before the Big Game (Especially in Business)

It's commonplace to see athletes warming up before a game. In fact, it would be very strange if we ever saw an elite-level basketball player show up at the gym right at tip-off and start playing. We would probably question their dedication and professionalism. We know that in order for an athlete to be at peak performance, they have to warm up. They have to get their body ready and their mind focused or they just won't be at their best. Why then do we, as business owners and salespersons, expect to be able to show up right before we start our sales pitch and expect to make sales. In this episode, we take a look at just how important those few minutes before a pitch are and learn some questions we should ask ourselves before we even start talking to a client or customer.
